The Hotel

The Txoriene Hotel is a rural house located in an exceptional enclave, no less than in the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, which encompasses 22,000 hectares. It is composed of cliffs, mountains, beaches, rivers, and underground waters, offering a spectacular landscape full of animal and human life.

Our hotel is located in Arrieta, 26 km from the Artxanda funicular, and features 10 rooms, a fitness center, jacuzzi, sauna, free private parking, shared lounge, and terrace. This 1-star hotel has a tourist information desk and luggage storage.

All rooms include a wardrobe, bathroom, and TV. The private bathroom features a bidet, complimentary toiletries, and a hairdryer. Rooms come with bed linen and towels.

History and tradition

The origin of Arrieta dates back to time immemorial, when the first communities settled in this fertile land. However, it was during the 19th century, with administrative reform, that Arrieta acquired its status as a municipality, consolidating its identity and cultural heritage.

Explore the cobbled streets of Arrieta and immerse yourself in its rich history. Among the points of interest is the Church of San Martín de Tours, an impressive Gothic-style building dating back to the 16th century, which stands as a living testament to the religious and architectural past of the region.

The surroundings of Arrieta offer a variety of natural landscapes to explore. From rolling hills to winding trails, every corner of this rural municipality is an invitation to adventure and contemplation.

21th june, San Luis

It’s a common tradition to gather on the following Sunday at the hermitage of the same name, and after the mass, enjoy in community with the music of the Trikitrixa.

10th july, San Cristóbal

It’s tradition to go to the hermitage of the same name on the following Sunday after the celebration, and after the mass, enjoy the communal atmosphere with Trikitrixa music and specially prepared cod for the occasion.

31th July, San Ignacio Festivities

Procession with the Virgin towards San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. Starting at 6 in the morning from Libao square, the Virgin is carried through the picturesque Sollube mountain, with a stop to rest in Mañua, before continuing through Burgoa and San Pelayo until reaching San Juan de Gaztelugatxe.
Around 11:30, the High Mass is celebrated followed by a fellowship meal at Eneperi.
The return journey is done at dusk by bus.

11th november, San Martín de Arrieta Festivities

Saint Martin’s Festivities. During these celebrations, a prominent agricultural fair takes place, which enjoys great acceptance. Popular activities include oxen skill tests, lively street parties, and the opportunity to taste exquisite blood sausages.
